Element AMS showcased their Salesforce-native association management platform at ASAE’s Association Demo Days, highlighting two powerful features that are transforming how associations operate: advanced credentialing workflows and self-service group membership management.
The demo, led by CEO Vishal Shah and CPO Chris Gorgoroso, demonstrated how Element AMS leverages the Salesforce platform to provide associations with flexible, configurable solutions that reduce administrative burden and improve the member experience. The presentation walked through real-world scenarios that showed both the member-facing portal experience and the staff-side administrative capabilities.
Introduction to Element AMS | [0:25 – 2:43]
The team introduces Element AMS as a Salesforce-native platform that gives associations access to the entire Salesforce ecosystem, including the AppExchange marketplace for additional tools ranging from project management to file management.
Credentialing Workflow Begins | [3:00 – 4:06]
The demo starts with Diego, a member without credentials, viewed from both the staff perspective in Salesforce and then transitions to the member portal experience where the credentialing journey begins.
Member Portal Experience | [4:12 – 5:47]
Diego logs into the member experience where he can manage his membership, enable auto-renewal, access payment methods, view invoices, track event registrations, and start a new credential application. The workflow is highly configurable and can capture different information based on member responses.
Tiered Credentialing System | [6:43 – 7:21]
Element AMS demonstrates support for multi-level credentials (Level 1, 2, and 3), allowing associations to offer tiered certifications within a single credential program—similar to how Salesforce offers different developer certification levels.
Flexible Requirement Types | [10:09 – 13:04]
The platform showcases various requirement types including file uploads, links, attestations, and the ability to reference previously uploaded documents. Members can upload multiple files at once, and the system is designed to be flexible enough to accommodate different credentialing workflows.
Application Submission Process | [14:12 – 15:23]
Diego completes all requirements and submits his application for staff review. The system shows a complete history of the credential journey, with all requirements marked as “waiting for review.”
Staff Review Process | [15:35 – 17:57]
Staff can efficiently review submissions, approve or request additional information, and send customized emails with pre-defined reasons for rejection or requests for more information—all configurable by the association.
Request for Additional Information | [17:57 – 19:24]
The demo shows how staff can request additional information from applicants, triggering an automated email. Members can then log back in, see what’s needed, upload the correct files, and resubmit for approval.
Group Membership Introduction | [20:55 – 22:19]
Chris transitions to demonstrating group membership functionality, addressing the common pain point of administrators managing organizational rosters through time-consuming email and spreadsheet processes.
Self-Service Roster Management | [22:24 – 24:37]
Diego, acting as an administrator for ABC Company, can view and update the organization’s roster directly in the portal. He can add new members, edit existing ones, remove members (which triggers configurable workflows rather than deleting from the database), or bulk upload a roster file.
Bulk Roster Upload | [24:43 – 25:25]
The system processes an uploaded roster file and provides a clear summary showing additions, edits, and removals, making it easy for administrators to verify changes before finalizing.
Membership Assignment | [25:37 – 26:15]
Administrators can bulk-assign membership types (Executive, Professional, etc.) to roster members based on their roles, with a real-time summary showing what’s been assigned and what remains unassigned.
Invoice Generation & Payment Options | [26:52 – 27:28]
Once the roster is finalized, the system automatically generates an invoice. Unlike individual members, group administrators can pay by purchase order in addition to standard payment methods.
Mid-Term Changes | [27:54 – 28:51]
The demo shows how administrators can add new members mid-term or transfer memberships from departing employees to new hires—all through the self-service portal without staff intervention.
Staff-Side Group Management | [28:08 – 29:54]
For administrators who prefer not to use the portal, staff can perform the same roster management functions on the backend, including uploading spreadsheets, managing renewals, and sending invoices directly to the appropriate contact.
1. Flexibility is Built-In
Element AMS is designed to be highly configurable rather than requiring custom code. Whether it’s credentialing workflows, form fields, status definitions, or email templates—associations can tailor the platform to their specific needs without the “customization trap” that breaks during upgrades.
2. Self-Service Reduces Administrative Burden
Both credentialing and group membership features emphasize member and administrator self-service. By empowering users to manage their own applications, rosters, and memberships, associations can dramatically reduce staff workload while improving user satisfaction.
3. Salesforce-Native Means More Power
Being built natively on Salesforce (not just integrated with it) means Element AMS customers get access to the full Salesforce ecosystem, including AI-ready infrastructure, robust reporting, and thousands of third-party integrations through the AppExchange.
4. Tiered Credentialing Supports Complex Programs
The ability to offer multiple levels within a single credential program allows associations to create sophisticated professional development pathways without managing multiple disconnected systems.
5. Group Membership Doesn’t Have to Be Painful
Element AMS transforms the traditionally cumbersome process of managing organizational memberships into a streamlined, self-service experience—while still accommodating administrators who prefer traditional methods like spreadsheet uploads.
6. Complete Audit Trail & History
Every action in the credentialing process is tracked and visible, providing transparency for both members and staff about where applications stand and what’s happened throughout the journey.
